Reminder - Rule 9.02 - (a) of the
2007 Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball states:
Any umpire's decision which involves judgment, such as, but not limited to,
whether a batted ball is fair or foul, whether a pitch is a strike or a ball, or
whether a runner is safe or out, is final. No player, manager, coach or
substitute shall object to any such judgment decisions.
Pitch
Count Responsibility
Attention
Division Coaches:
It is the coach's responsibility to conform to the new pitch count
rules. Please reference pages 33-34 of the rulebook. The official
pitch count recorder will be the coach of their respective team.
The coach may designate an assistant coach or a scorekeeper, but the
coach will be responsible for the accuracy of all entries.
Ideally, the coach will be responsible for their pitcher's pitch count
as well as the opposing teams pitchers. At the end of the game
each coach will compare and confirm the pitch counts. Both coaches
will sign each team's scorebook, which will include pitcher of record
and pitches thrown. Make sure to observe the days rest rule as
well as total pitch count.

League Age Determination Date
Little League Board of
Directors accepted a recommendation from USA Baseball to
change the league age determination date for its players
starting in the 2006 season. The league age determine date is
the age a player has attained as of a specific date, for the
purpose of placing a player in a particular division. The old
date for Little League Baseball was July 31st. Starting with
the 2006 season, the date in all divisions of Little League
Baseball will be April 30 of the current year/season.
Thus, a child whose 12th birthday is on April 30 or earlier
has a League Age of 12; a child whose 12th birthday is on May
1 or later has a League Age of 11. This principle applies
regardless of age.
ROLL OF THE PARENTS
(Quote
from the Little League Handbook)
“The
parents of millions of Little Leaguers combine with their youngsters, league
officials, umpires, managers, coaches, auxiliary members and countless volunteer
agencies including sponsors, represent an imposing cross section of this nation.
Parents
should accept the fact that they must shoulder responsibility and take
initiative to make the local program successful.
Little League is not a club in which membership implies baby-sitting
benefits and entertainment privileges.
Practically
speaking, Little League is an adult, volunteer work project constructed,
supervised and assisted by parents who desire to make its benefits extend to
their children.
Each
parent should join in the total effort. There
is a place and a job to do for all. The
burden of operating the league should not fall on a few.
The parent who shirks this responsibility cannot, in turn, expect others
to assume the burden.”
